Yeah sure, six-banger dogs. The 6 cyl version of the VE Commodore (Pontiac G8) has the Australian designed and built HFV6 LY7 engine. It makes 262 hp, not really what I would call a "dog".
You think that GM in the US is solely responsible for the Commodore getting a V8 engine? Believe it or not, between 1969 and 1999 Holden had their very own V8 engines. Many will argue that the LS1 that replaced the Holden V8 in 1999 was a big step backwards.

The skin is Aussie, but the heart is American. Without the generals powerplants, these cars would be six-banger dogs. I also own a 07 Charger Daytona R/T. It is alot faster than they give it credit. My 0-60 times from my dash timer are always between 5.5-5.8 seconds. The problem with it is they are hobbled by a 2.82 rear gear. Can't wait for the 3.23's to come out by Richmond gears, then we shall see what happens when all that torque will be put to good use.

Any one that owns an 04-06 Pontiac GTO or a Pontiac G8 should be familiar with the Holden name. Lift the hood on any of these cars and there is a big white sticker that say "MFG BY HOLDEN LTD.

I don't really understand the point of your argument, and I doubt you do either. You acknowledge that Toyota and BMW are NOT American cars, even though there are Toyota and BMW factories in the US. There is only ONE place on this planet where Holden Commodores (Pontiac G8's) are built, and that is in Elizabeth, South Australia. Holden was building cars long before GM got to Australia, and the Holden company is 4 decades older than GM.
Holden's are Australian cars. You can go and root your boot.

Not doing as they are told. That's how the US Civil War got started.

ninjafatballz on October 11, 2008 at 9:54 pm
does that mean the toyota camry or BMW Z4 or BMW SUV's ,toyota tundra are all shitty cause they are all built right here in the united states. and there are more too. it also doesnt mean they are american just because we build them. |
